Highway 45 offers some of the best surfing conditions in the country.
New Plymouth is beautifully situated close to Mt. Taranaki, an
impressive volcano (2500m). There are numerous possibilities for
wonderful short and long walks on the mountain. The view onto the
coast from the mountain is absolutely amazing!
You can even go skiing and Snowboarding on Mt. Taranaki in winter!
